Workshops for Adults
Living an Inspiring Life Workshop Series
There are so many people who are not currently living the lives they were destined to live, but yearn to do just that. Participants will learn how to face their fears and stand up for the lives they want and deserve. The program includes worksheets and breakout sessions that help participants uncover the obstacles they face and practical suggestions for overcoming them. Each workshop in this series (see other document for individual descriptions) concludes with a group brainstorming session wherein those who volunteer will receive valuable suggestions from all seminar participants that will guide them further on the path toward living the inspiring lives they were meant to live.
***Note: Living an Inspiring life can be given as a one-time, standalone workshop or as a series with the following consecutive sessions (Workshops 2 through 5 can also be given as standalone workshops.):
IMAGINE: Taking the First Step Toward Your INSPIRING Life – The hardest part of starting something new taking that first step. Sometimes we even want to jump ahead and work with the first idea that comes into our heads instead of taking the time to imagine all the possibilities. Why not let your imagination run wild? You’ll be surprised at the ideas that pop into your head. But don’t be afraid of being judged or criticized. You’ll be in a nurturing environment where all dreams are encouraged.
COMMUNICATE: Networking: Making the HUMAN Connection – We’ve been taught to think that the more business cards we distribute and collect during a networking meeting, the better. Well, once collected, this pile of cards often just sits in a desk drawer gathering dust. Truly, the forgotten part of networking is making the HUMAN connection. Attend this session and you will learn valuable techniques for connecting with people who will enrich your life.
BRAINSTORM: The Power of Brainstorming – Okay, you’ve connected with like-minded people and you’ve got a goal or goals in mind, but you’re not sure how to make them happen. This exciting evening is your chance to brainstorm with supportive people who will help you come up with ideas to help you get started on your path to enhancing your life.
ENERGIZE: Accentuate the Positive (aka Transforming Negatives into Positives) – What’s blocking you from achieving your goals? What’s the worst that can happen if you give it a try? How can you overcome these obstacles? These questions and more will be answered during this energy-filled program that focuses on replacing the negative influences in your life with positive energy that will go a long way in helping you to create the life you want.
BELIEVE: Facing Your Fears – At this point, you’ve participated in the brainstorming sessions and are beginning to believe that you can actually make your goals happen. But you still experience nagging doubts and fears, such as the fear of making mistakes, which can put you into what I like to call the “State of Inertia.” During this installment of the seminar series, you will learn how to coax YOURSELF out of that state of inertia, face your fears and continue on the path to your inspiring life.
DISCOVER: Creating the Road Map to Your Inspiring Life – THIS IS THE FUN PART! It involves a journey of discovery–trying new things to see what you like, what you don’t like, what works, what doesn’t. It will open up avenues to you that you might not have known before. During this program, we will talk about the many resources that are available to you, how to make the time for yourself to go on your journey of discovery and how to begin creating your very own roadmap. Attend this workshop and you will discover the some of the surprising ways you can work toward your goals.
DARE: Integrate Your Goals into Your Life – Here’s one of the tricky parts. You have responsibilities, obligations, and people in your life who depend on you. So, how do you fit your aspirations into your current life? Is everything that you are doing in your daily life leading your down your chosen path? Well, that’s what we’ll cover in this session as we take a look at how you are spending your time and help you fit true goals into your busy schedule.
The University of Can-Do Masters Program
Just like Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking,” you can master the art of living a “Can-Do” way of life! Come to this revolutionary program to learn how YOU can become a “Can-Do Master”!
Mastering Your Thoughts and Feelings
In this installment of the Can-Do Master’s program, you will master the art of dealing with your thoughts and feelings so they stop overwhelming your ability to act.
Mastering the Art of Focus

Being the Real You
Do you struggle with showing your real self to the world? Do you go along with the crowd rather than expressing your own views? In this workshop, we will discuss the difficulties we face trying to be authentic in our daily lives.
What exactly is JOY? What are internal and external joy and how can we get more of both? How do we find joy in our daily routines? What is meant by the phrase “Unexpected JOYS” and how do we open ourselves up to them? Find out the answer to these questions and more at this workshop.
Transforming Negatives into Positives (AKA Accentuate the Positive)
When we feel surrounded by negative circumstances, influences and energy, it is difficult to maintain a positive outlook and way of life . . . difficult, but not impossible. Our jobs can, at times, become frustrating and disheartening, so much so that we experience burnout and job performance suffers. Staying motivated can be very difficult. Among the offerings of this workshop, participants will learn how to stay focused, how to avoid burnout, and how to reward themselves for accomplishments big and small and not feel guilty about it. They will benefit from hearing about the experiences of the facilitator and others with whom they can identify. They will also be encouraged to tell their own stories with the goal of leaving the class having met new contacts with whom they can continue to share their struggles and triumphs.
Dealing with Challenging Work Relationships
Each day we encounter coworkers of various personality types. Sometimes we experience conflict with these personalities. It is that conflict that can put a tremendous strain on our work life. During this workshop, participants will learn how to deal with and resolve personality conflicts and build productive and rewarding work relationships.
Discovering the Career Meant for You
Participants are provided with the inspirational and practical tools that will help them recognize the signs for discovering the career they really want as they are taken on a journey through the facilitator’s career path. The program includes worksheets and breakout sessions that help participants uncover these aforementioned signs. The workshop will conclude with a group brainstorming session wherein those who volunteer to take part in the brainstorming process will receive valuable suggestions from all workshop participants that will guide them further on the path toward the career they were meant to have.

- Teaching them that being yourself is the best way to be
- Helping them deal with the differences in themselves and others, embrace what makes them unique and use those traits to

Each of these workshops is flexible in that they can be delivered in a variety of time frames and tailor-made for children of all ages/grade levels.

- Cultivate and maintain a positive attitude
- Deal with negative people
- Turn negative situations into a positive experiences
Being the Real You
There are times in children’s lives when they encounter friends that will cause them to question and feel inferior about their appearance and their behavior as well as their choices in friends and pastimes. This feeling of inferiority can lead them to take on traits, playmates and activities that are not true to who they really are inside. This workshop will help children to:
- Stay true to themselves
- Maintain composure in the face of teasing and criticism
- Stick up for themselves
- Find people who will accept them for who they are
Often, children have experiences that test and even lower their level of self-esteem — such as struggling with tough academic subjects and conflicts with classmates, teachers, parents and siblings. This workshop will help children recognize that they possess the inner strength to raise and/or maintain their own self-esteem. Lessons include
- Helping fellow classmates build self-esteem and learning how doing so will strengthen one’s own self-esteem
- Handling academic struggles and learning that asking for help is a sign of strength rather than weakness
- Maintaining one’s self esteem when dealing with interpersonal conflicts
- Maintaining one’s self-esteem in the face of teasing and criticism
Different is Not a Negative Word
Children are often made to feel, by their peers, that they have to look or act a certain way to be popular, and that being thought of as “different” is unacceptable. But, in fact, it is our differences that make us unique. This workshop will show children how we can each celebrate and encourage individuality in themselves and others. The topics covered in this workshop include:
- The positive definition of different
- Why we are teased for being different and how it feels when it happens
- How we can celebrate uniqueness and encourage others to do the same
For the younger children, there is an animated film called “The Point” that can be shown in class and discussed to illustrate the topics listed above
Facing Your Fears
As toddlers, our children often seem fearless. But as they grow and have more life experiences, fear is often instilled in them to the point that it deters them from facing challenges or trying new things. Facing fears is a vital part of our life experience and it helps us to grow psychologically. In this workshops, participants will discover:====

The Power of Brainstorming
Do you have a goal in mind but don’t know how to make it happen? Do you want to discover fun ways to dream up new ideas? This inspiration-filled workshop is your chance to find out all about how to brainstorm with your friends and family. The following topics will be discussed:
- The definition and types of brainstorming
- The positive effects of brainstorming
- How to brainstorm successfully
How to Create a Positive World
Even in these times of worldwide unrest (perhaps especially in those times), it is important for children to know that they have the strength and the ability to make positive differences in the world, whether it be among their family and friends, in their hometown or on a state, national or global level. This workshop will demonstrate how they can do just that. Topics include:
- Real-life examples of children who have made a positive difference in the world
- Small differences vs. big differences and how every bit helps
- What it takes to make a positive difference
